MY BUCKET LIST

For those of you who don't already know, a bucket list is a list of things a person would like to do before kicking the bucket.

Before I kick the bucket I would like to ……

Hear of a Cure
- What the heck? This one’s obvious. Before I die from this disease I’d like to hear that someone found a cure for it.

See AJ in His Uniform - AJ was always proud of his uniforms as a kid. He loved wearing the special goalie shirts and the Select soccer team jacket. I know he's proud now and I'd like to share it with him. DONE! - See below

Save a Life - I know, this is a tough one

Change a Life - for the better DONE! - See my 3/16/11 blog post

See the Grand Canyon - My last attempt got snowed out.

Reconcile With My Brother - completely. I miss him.

Hike to the Top of Pyramid Mountain With Trrrrr - We tried last summer but I couldn’t make it. Trrrr thinks that was the first sign of my disease. She would be forging ahead and I’d be hanging back scouting out a place for the MedEvac Helicopter to land. I want Trrrr to see Tripod Rock. Maybe some of you will come with us. It would be fun. And besides, Trrrr may need help carrying me back down the mountain.

Plant Marigolds With My Mother - I have a shot at this one ….. Spring is right around the corner DONE!!!! See the post below

See Heather Get the Job She Wants - She deserves it.

Have a Group Hug - With my mother, my brother, and my sister DONE! See below

On May 10, 2009 my mother and I, along with my mother's companion Paul planted the marigolds in a planter I built in the corner of the yard several years ago. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful event. My mother was the first to fulfill one of my bucket list wishes. It was Mother's Day. Thanks Ma. I love you.

On May 17, 2010 we did it a second time.

On April 20, 2010 my son AJ graduated from the police academy. In addition to experiencing extreme fatherly pride, I was able to see him in his uniform. I love you AJ. And I salute you.

On Thanksgiving day, 2010 I got the group hug with my mother, sister Ann and brother Tim. It felt good.
